Stronger

While my Dad was in the hospital last year, I came across a song that helped me get through that difficult time. I also let my dad listen to it while he was laying in the hospital bed. The song is on my iTunes and it played the other day, reminding me again that no matter what I’m going through or what I’ve been through, these things will only make me stronger coming out on the other side.

The song is actually called “Stronger” and is by the christian artist Mandisa. Growing up listening to this kind of music, I’ve always loved those songs that have such a powerful meaning behind them, they almost seem to “speak” to you. Whether you listen to this kind of music or not, take a moment to listen to this beautiful song.

Whether you’re having internal struggles, grieving the loss of a loved one, having financial troubles, experiencing problems in your relationships, or even if your loved one is in the hospital like my Dad was, this song will give you the gentle reminder that:

You aren’t alone.
There’s a reason for whatever is happening in your life.God knows that reason even if you don’t, so you have to trust him (have faith).
You will become a stronger person both mentally and spiritually for going through whatever it is you’ve went through.

It’s music like this that keeps me going when I start to reflect on the sad or troubling moments in my life.

“When the waves are taking you under
Hold on just a little bit longer
He knows that this is gonna make you stronger, stronger
The pain ain’t gonna last forever
And things can only get better
Believe me
This is gonna make you stronger”
